About Speakers:

Prof. Wang Jianxin is a famous flute performer, musicologist, professor of Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and director of School of Music. He graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1985. In 1987 he obtained master’s degree which made him the first one with a master’s degree in flute major in China, and held his own recital for the first time. In 1988 he entered Chinese National Academy of Arts and did research in ancient Chinese music history and Chinese seven-stringed zither study. He gained doctorate in 2001. In 1995 he was invited to Singapore and Malaysia to carry out direction for Le Hua Arts for a year. Since 1999 he has been cooperating with Chinese seven-stringed zither artist Li Fengyun, and every year they held flute and seven-stringed zither concerts at Beijing Concert Hall, Forbidden City Concert Hall Beijing, and many cities inland. He was invited to America, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, Indonesia, Cambodia etc. to hold concerts and lectures for many times.

Prof. Li Fengyun is professor of Tianjin Conservatory of Music and vice chairman of Chinese Seven-stringed Zither Association. She graduated from and started teaching in Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1985. She learns form Chen Chong, Li Xiangting, Xu Jian, Li Yunzhong, etc.. In 1987 she took Mr. Zhang Ziqian of Guangling school as teacher, and absorbed the essence of Guangling school. She has published several albums, brought over ten pieces of Chinese zither music and over thirty songs to life according to their music scores. She has also published several academic papers. In 1990 she held individual concert in Tianjin. So far she has conducted over one hundred Chinese seven-stringed zither solos, performances and lectures in Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Macao, Europe, America, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia etc..
